Krystyna Waszakowa : Is the Term Hybrid Useful in Word Formation?
In reference to D. Buttler.s paper on hybridal formations the author asks the essential question: whether in the times of the growing tendency to internationalisation of the Polish lexical and word-formation system, speaking of hybridal structures has any sense. The author proves that perception of foreign elements within Polish language has changed. According to her, the quality of 'being a hybrid', both in the synchronic and genetic sense, from the normative point of view cannot disqualify any new word-formation structure, as it should not be considered in its evaluation.
