The author presents in his paper the phraseology field of insects in the French-Polish and Polish-French comparative perspective and tries to bring out the linguistic vision of the entomological universe peculiar to both languages. All formal types of expressions have been studied here, including proverbs.

Magdalena Stec : The Linguistic Picture of Santa Claus in the Silesian Press
The article aims to introduce the linguistic picture of Santa Claus. The comparison of the press material dating from both the turn of the 19th and 20th and the beginning of the 21st century gives the possibility to show the major changes in the conceptualization of the saint. The contemporary image of Santa Claus is irrelevant to the original bishop. The number of his variable realizations in the press proves that the image undergoes constant transformations motivated by commercialization and culture intermingling. This results in degradation and secularization of the image of Santa Claus.

Multiword military terms most often undergo determinologization in texts about dispute, politics, economics. This process usually consists in a kind of semantic derivation, mostly metaphorization, which connections primarily functioning as military terms undergo in new contexts. It may occasionally happen that semantic derivation is additionally linked with formal modifications. Determinologization of military terms and bringing them into new contexts usually implies certain pragmatic functions.

Bartłomiej Maliszewski : Descriptive Connotations of Animals
The linguistic picture of animals is mainly associated with anthropocentric perception of their "faults" and "merits". However, the article presents the level of descriptive connotations, which is focused on real features. The variety of the world of fauna turns out an inexhaustible source of metaphorical names (catachreses) for discovered or invented objects. The descriptive connotations of animals appear in colloquial style as well, to meet language users. expressive needs. Differentiation of means of connotation as regards legibility of derivation and degree of semantic motivation is another crucial point in the paper.

Joanna Rabiega-Wiśniewska : The Linguistic Background of the Automatic Morphological Analyzer AMOR
The article introduces formal foundations of the automatic morphological analyzer AMOR. Basic presentation of the a fronte analysis is followed by three stages of the grammatical dictionary construction for AMOR: (a) the inflectional pattern classification of the set of lexical entries, (b) the definition of inflectional rules within a particular pattern, (c) the rule-based classification of 80 thousand lexical units. The presentation is enriched with samples of the results of the analysis, possibly with statistic data, as well as the application of the AMOR analyzer in other scientific projects.
