Elżbieta Sękowska : Political Outlook of the Contemporary Polish
The article is a sum up of the first stage of works on the project of The Dictionary of Political and Social Notions of Middle and East European Countries (SPPS).
It includes the analysis of data acquired from the survey which 120 people of different sex, education, age and professions took place in. Their task was to make a list of notions characterizing political and social condition of their country on the one hand, and producing notions which used to express and which express their political thought now on the other hand. The analysis of replies revealed the ideological aspect of the notion %political thought'. In this case its capacity includes the system of values, principles and objectives, a set of views on politicians and society's actions. The research reveals the notion as a collection of various contents, neither systematized nor coherent, which contributes to the variety of Polish present reality.

Anna Krzyżanowska : Metaphorical Phrases Motivated by the Activity of Food Consumption (in Polish and French)
The subject of the analysis is metaphorical phrases motivated by the activity of food consumption in Polish and French. The analysis denotes that the basis of metaphorical mechanisms of described phrases contain the same human experiences closely connected with body functioning, physiological processes occurring inside it. In both languages psychic phenomena are talked about in categories of everyday, familiar to the human being activity, which is food consumption. It is a projection of feelings and sensations easy to name into feelings and conditions a bit more abstract, intellectual and emotional in character.

Halina Karaś : Linguistic Conceptualization of Feelings from the Group of FEAR Based on the Verbal-Nominal Structures
The analysis of the material carried out in the article allows the author to answer the question what role verbal-nominal notions called genetic metaphors play in conceptualization of feelings from the group of FEAR. Estimations indicate that the structures are over 70% of all registered by the author structures belonging to the group of FEAR, whose total number is over 300. Cognitive writings show that verbal-nominal structures, treated there equal to phrases are the group of language structures which reveal clearly notional metaphors.

Danuta Kownacka : On Repartition of Endings in Plural Genitive of Nouns Ending with -arnia
The author deals with forms, the choice of which is troublesome not only for language users, but also for normativists and lexicographers. The review of approaches presented in correctness editorials as well as lexicographic experience led to the conclusion that -i ending of the described nouns in plural genitive is commonly accepted. Thus she advocates this form as the basic inflectional variant of all nouns belonging to the examined group on the one hand, whereas on the other hand she suggests that forms with -arń endings should be viewed as a rather rare variant, although still correct.
